Pow the Egg

A rancher is taking her eggs to the market in a truck, yet she hits a Pothole, which thumps over all the holders of eggs. At the point when she put the eggs in gatherings of two, three, four, five, and six there was one egg left finished, yet when she put them in gatherings of seven they wound up in complete gatherings without any eggs left finished. Presently she has to know what number of eggs she had and is there more than one chance. The main thing I did was to peruse the pow maturing all alone. I out when she put her eggs in gatherings of two there is one remaining over. The number can't be a numerous of two. Likewise three four five and six can’t be a numerous of this number. On the off chance that there were no eggs left over when placed into gatherings of seven there more likely than not been a various of 7 eggs. Presently need to discover products of seven. 7,14,21,28,35,42,49,56,63,70,77, 84,91,98, 105,112,119,126,133,140,147 ,154,161,168,175,1 82 ,189,196 ,203 ,210, 217, 224, 231 ,238, 245, 252 ,259, 266, 273, 280,287,294,301 Then you cross out all the numbers that are separable by 2,3,4,5, and 6.So I got161 and 301 as the numbers that can't be products 2, 3,4,5,6. | 3 * 4 * 7 = 8449 + 84 = 133. Nothing more than a bad memory. 133 isn't acceptable in light of the fact that it's anything but a different of 7133 + 84 = 217. Nothing more than a bad memory. 217 in light of the fact that it's anything but a various of 7217 + 84 = 301. Good| | I got 301 on the grounds that you get a rest of 1 for the numbers: 2,3,4,5 and 6. So the most modest number of eggs is 301. In any case, there is other arrangement. Be that as it may, as a rule what you're searching for is the littlest arrangement, so 301 is likely the appropriate response you want. One day a kid was heading off to the b-ball court he had six arrangements of balls. At the point when he was arriving he stumble on a stone letting all the ball dropping out the net. Presently he needs to establish o ut what number of balls were in the nets. He know when he put the balls in bunches two, three, four, five and six three was one ball left finished, yet when she put them in gathering of seven they end up a total gatherings without any eggs left finished. Commendation for Father In the interest of my whole family, I need to thank every one of you for your empathy and for being available here today. For those of you who don't have any acquaintance with me, my name is Mauri-Lynne, and I'm Lionel's little girl. Father was dedicated to all of you. We as a whole expectation that you'll impart your recollections of him to us, in the event that not today, at that point in the many months to come. My dad was focused on the training and safeguarding of Jewish life. His strict convictions educated all that he did. Especially partial to customary music, he and I spent numerous hours tuning in to the cherished accounts he'd gathered throughout the years. We talked consistently about our profound and common duty as Jews, especially our duties to G-d. Jewish spiritualists clarify that before show creation, everything that ever would be was contained inside the Creator as unadulterated probability. This field without end made vessels through which its perfect vitality could pass and separate, each speaking to a particular trait, for example, insight, sympathy, graciousness and quality. The vitality being transmitted was incredible to the point that the vessels broke. It is said that a portion of these broke bits of perfect vitality tumbled to earth as sparkles where they have stayed every one of these ages. He and I accept that one of our essential duties to G-d is to fix the world. In Hebrew, we call this procedure tikkun olam. We achieve this by performing endorsed mitzvot or acts of kindness. We accept that each mitzvah or good act, raises those perfect flashes. Customary lessons express that when the fix is finished, we introduce the Messianic Age. Of the numerous mitzvot, performing demonstrations of adoring generosity, or chesed, is viewed as one of the most significant. Nobody comprehended this strict commitment more plainly than my dad; it was one of his essential life orders. Every one of you is here today since you've encountered my dad's graciousness, concern and liberality somehow or another. A while back, when I was unable to rest, I turned on late-night TV and viewed the musician/vocalist, Billy Joel, engaging a school crowd. Somebody got some information about a specific melody, and he addressed it was written because of an inquiry his young girl had posed about death. She needed to realize where individuals went when they passed on. He addressed that they go into the hearts of the individuals who cherished them. Simply investigate the eyes of the individuals sitting surrounding you.

How Does Ethical Dilemma Occur - Free Essay Example

According to Murray (2017), an ethical dilemma occurs when obligations, principles, rights, values, and beliefs are in conflict (p. 73). They arise when the only choices available are undesirable (Murray, 2017, p. 73). With outcomes of patient demise with either choice, physician assisted suicide (PAS) clearly meets the criteria of an ethical dilemma. History Euthanasia has a long history around the world as well as the United States. The first set of ethical standards that were established to guide the practice of medicine was in 400 BC at the School of Hippocrates. These ethical standards are found in what is known as the Hippocratic Oath. This oath, held by physicians, guides them to treat the patient to the best of their ability while maintaining the privacy of the patient and promising to teach younger generations the knowledge of medicine. In the 1900s, the right to death was a topic of discussion throughout Europe. In 1920, in Germany, home of the most scientifically advanced medical community in Europe, a booklet titled Permitting the Destruction of Unworthy Life was published (Vizcarrondo, 2017, p. 1). This booklet brought to light the ideation that it should be legal to kill people that were deemed unworthy of living. In Germany, after this booklet was published, physicians and nurses legally practiced the organized killing of human beings. PAS has now made its way to the United States (U.S.). As of 2017, five states have passed a statute governing PAS. In chronological order, they are: Oregon (1994), Washington (2008), Vermont (2013), California (2015), and Colorado (2016) (Sullivan, 2018, p. 50). There are 17 other states who are currently considering the passage of death with dignity laws. There are requirements for PAS laws. The requirements include that eligible patients must be 18 years of age or older and have a terminal illness, with a death prognosis of six months or less. In regards to the physician, they must have an active license in the state and must inform the patient of all possible options. The last requirement of the PAS laws deals with timing. There must be an Initial verbal request, followed by a 15-day waiting period. There must then be a second verbal request to the physician, followed by a written request. Finally, there must be a 48-hour waiting period before the patient can pick up the medications from a participating pharmacy (Sullivan, 2018, p. 50). These requirements are important to the PAS laws because they establish criteria for who may receive and who may administer this procedure. With such a highly debated ethical topic such as PAS, clear guidelines are necessary to help prevent misuse of this procedure. Ethical Principles In nursing there are eight ethical principles that nurses must practice including autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice, fidelity, veracity, privacy, and confidentiality (Murray, 2017). So, how does a nurse juggle their ethical responsibilities and their own personal beliefs when it comes to PAS? The ethical principles which relate most to PAS are autonomy, beneficence, and nonmaleficence. Each of these principles have specific factors which can lead to significant moral distress in nurses and can have weighing effects on the patients as well as the patients family and friends. Autonomy Autonomy is defined as self-governance, in that an individual is free to make choices about what can be done to his or her body (Murray, 2017, p. 65). This ethical principle is one which can be very challenging in the context of PAS. From a nursing standpoint the nurse should always advocate for their patient as far as what the patient wants and what is best for that patient. In situations such as this, the nurse may be experiencing significant moral distress related to his or her own beliefs regarding PAS. Furthermore, as a persons death approaches, dilemmas around quality of life and wanting to proactively end life can be complicated and distressing for all concerned (Costello, 2014, p. 55). Therefore you cannot just look at the nurses feelings of the situation, you must also consider the patient as well as their friends and family. The patient may want to end their life, but they also may want to be there to comfort their friends and family throughout the end of their life. On the other hand, the patients family and friends may wish for the patients suffering to end but are not prepared or ready for their loved one to die. In reality, the patient should have full autonomy over choices regarding their care; however, in most states in the U.S. it is illegal to provide PAS. This means that patients typically do not have this option whether it is within their wishes for end-of-life care or not, which ultimately limits their autonomy. Beneficence Beneficence is a core principle of patient advocacy and refers to any action intended to benefit another (Murray, 2017, p. 66). When referring to beneficence arguments can be made regarding PAS as to whether or not it supports this ethical principle. According to Kiger (2015), if the patient has no hope of recovery and might spend further weeks or months in discomfort, living a life devoid of value, ending that life would be an act of kindness, which would essentially an act of beneficence (p. 4). Another point of view would be that if the patient wishes to participate in PAS, but they have a chance of recovery or their condition is not one with debilitating factors that may significantly decrease their quality of life, then providing PAS would defy the ethical principle of beneficence. Nonmaleficence Nonmaleficence is the moral obligation to do no harm or injury to another person (Murray, 2017, p. 66). If a patient is constantly in significant pain, has a remarkably decreased quality of life, and has no hope of recovery then ending that life would prevent needless pain and suffering (Kiger, 2015, p. 4). In other words, it would be an act of nonmaleficence and would be considered ethical. From another perspective, the patient may have a chance of recovery with the hope of decreasing their pain and increasing their quality of life. In this scenario it would be considered a breach of nonmaleficence to allow or advocate for PAS. In doing so the nurse is advocating for the patient to die without good reason; therefore, causing harm to the patient. Ethical Platform When a nurse decides whether or not to take an ethical stand for or against PAS many are set in their beliefs and firm in where they stand. Through this study, the platform reached was divided evenly down the middle, which is reflected in the research and in surveys reviewed. Each opinion was formed and framed based on individual experiences and beliefs. When faced with an ethical dilemma such as PAS, each nurse should reflect upon their own beliefs and know where they stand morally and ethically. There is no specific right or wrong, and nurses may differ in their opinion with each situation they encounter. The American Nursing Association (ANA) Code of Ethics was developed more than 65 years ago, with many provisions being made over time, yet the principles remain the same. Ethical code 1.4 Right to Self-Determination is described as, Nurses should provide interventions to relieve pain and other symptoms in the dying patient consistent with palliative care practice standards and may not act with the sole intent to end life (Code of Ethics, 2015, p. 3). Respecting patient autonomy is to respect a patients right to self-determination (Murray, 2017). Patients can make choices to what extent of care or life sustaining treatment they want to receive, and as previously stated there are states in which a patient with a terminal illness can decide to end their life. PAS is illegal in the majority of our country, and the ANA states that, nurses are strictly prohibited from participating in PAS (Pedersen Tariman, 2017, p. 25). Where is the line drawn in deciding how far a nurse can go to respec t a patients autonomy? Concerning beneficence and adhering to the duty to do good nurses must uphold and constantly advocate for a patients needs and wishes (Murray, 2017, p. 65). Nurses working in areas such as hospice, critical care, or oncology are often faced with patients who are suffering from unrelieved pain, and many request help with ending their suffering. This leaves nurses in an ethical predicament; does one allow their patient with stage four terminal esophageal cancer who has requested death with dignity to suffer from pain and starvation or does the nurse empower the patient by advocating for their request. To determine a nursing standpoint on such dilemmas, 539 nurses in Nevada were given an end-of-life survey. Out of those nurses surveyed, 53% expressed support of PAS, including death with dignity (Pedersen Tariman, 2017, p. 35). The ANA stands against PAS, yet the nurse may administer pain medication that may potentially hasten the patients death based on the principle of double effect, which is defined as the justification of claims that a single act having two unforeseen effects, one good and one harmful, such as death, is not always morally prohibited if the harmful effect is not intended (Pedersen Tariman, 2017, p. 26). This seemingly contradicts the ethical principle of nonmaleficence. Even though a harmful effect was not intended, how can the principle of double effect be ethically justified? Yet, nurses who participate in PAS can still face criticism. In San Francisco, out of 24 different health care facilities serving AIDS patients, 54% supported PAS for its ability to relieve suffering (Pedersen Tariman, 2017, p. 35). While many nurses are supportive of PAS for their strong beliefs in patients dignity and autonomy those who are unsupportive cite that personal ethics, religion, and the potential fo r abuse of PAS defines their moral disapproval of PAS (Pedersen Tariman, 2017, p. 36). Conclusion When questions of moral rightness or wrongness underlie a nurses decision making and care of patients in a beneficent manner, ethical issues will arise (Stanhope Lancaster, 2017, p. 51). These ethical issues grow into dilemmas when there are justifiable reasons for either option (Stanhope Lancaster, 2017, p. 51). It is clear that there are arguments for and against PAS, with each side justifiable by basic principles of ethics. While at this time the ANA Code of Ethics prevents nurses from participating in PAS, there may come a time when nurses will have to choose for themselves. It is key that each nurse examines their own personal beliefs and feelings prior to facing such a decision. If necessary, they need to be prepared to step aside and let another nurse provide care during PAS if they cannot resolve doing so with their own beliefs.

As per the Google's statement, they collect information to deliver the customized service for the users. Furthermore, Google also uses these data for the advertisement. The organization places cookies in the system of the users to track the web browsing history of that user (Kerr and Earle 2013). There is no such declaration till this date, from the organization on whether the collected information of web browsing history is deleted or not. Another inclusion in this list is the launching of Google Buzz, social networking platform of Google; because, the users found that their contact list was exposed to the public automatically unless one has opted it out. The majority of the users are disappointment with the privacy policy of the Google due to its enactment of revealing the information to any government agencies or law enforcement authorities. If such entities raise a request of revealing, the request does not require any reconsideration or approval from a judge or the court (Chen, Chiang and Storey 2012). It has been suspected that google tracks the data of internet users with the help of various tools; for instances, Google analytics, fonts and Google APIs. Use of such tools for tracking the IP address of the users makes Google able to determine the internet route of those users. Such information is valuable for Google because it is used for the marketing agencies and advertisements of Google itself; thus, Google places the privacy of the users at stake for its own interest. Reports have also revealed that Google collected almost 600 gigabytes of data from both the public and private Wi-Fi networks in around 30 countries without giving any prior notice to the Wi-Fi stations or the affected people. In this concern, incidents for Street View, one of the services offered by Google, can be said; this service has been accused by the users of taking pictures of their homes and looking too far into their private property. Moreover, people have also ra ised an objection to take their photographs and sharing them for the service without even informing them. Statement by Ferrell and Fraedrich (2015), in this context, is valid; they said that google has been bowing the ethics to its advertisement business. As mentioned by, Palazzo, Krings and Hoffrage (2012), an organization should not breach with the ethical provisions to make its business more profitable. As Google is the web giant and people use its services for daily activities it just cannot turn a deaf ear to the concerns of its user. Issues of bug attacking have happened with the Google services resulting in the leak of confidential information; hence, it means Google should review its security protection strategies very seriously so that it can avoid such mishaps further. Keep the fact of increasing dissatisfaction among service users in mind, the organization has shown interest to modify the privacy policy. Google stated that users can avoid sharing their personal information by turning off the option of share when they are accessing the service. On addition, Google clearly declared about it stand on the matter of maintaining the privacy of its users and answered all the questions of government in a 13-page letter. Google has also launched an extension called keep My Opt-Outs so that advertising companies cannot install the cookies in a users system. Thus, it can be said that Google has alternative options that can maintain the balance between the profitability and privacy. Therefore, overall extract of this discussion indicates that Google is required to be more ethical while dealing with the maintenance of the private information and there are lots of opportunities for the organization to grow further without hampering the ethical values of privacy protection. Poetry Analysis of Silver and The Moon Essay Example For Students

Poetry Analysis of Silver and The Moon Essay The Envenomed blind men, all possessing accurate but different portrayals of an elephant, show the new dimension one possess from looking at things from different perspectives. Supervising the activities on Earth, the only natural satellite on the Water Planet is perceived differently amongst the Homo sapiens roaming on it. Silver by Walter De la Mare and The Moon by P. B. Shelley are two Insights on the character of the moon. Despite Silver and The Moon both powerfully describing the nature of the moon, the two moms depicts distinct images. Silver by Walter De la Mare Is a bravura and meaningful poem with Blvd Imagery. In this Innovated sonnet (with 14 lines, 7 couplets that rhyme and 8 syllables per line except for the last two with 9) that gives the reader a round and calm beat, a mood of serenity is found in the mystical world that appeals to children with tenderly emotion. Throughout the poem, the poet repeats the word silver and has included numerous s sounds, this allows the r eader to feel tranquil as he or she reads the poem. Alliteration (slowly/silently silver/shown beams/beneath silver/sleeps silver/stream), assonance (peers/sees) and consonance (slowly/silently) are also delicate additions to the poem. Further emphasizing his point, Walter included symbols Like dove for peace and silver for luster to give the poem positive connotation. In addition, the silver reflection that is castes on Earth from the moon is a symbol of perfection. In the first couplet, the author lays out a peaceful scene. The repeated s sounds and the commas in between slows the readers mind to the tempo of the poem. Personification Is used alongside poetic devices to keep the rhyming scheme. Walking the night In silver slippers gives the poem an elegant and graceful touch. In the second couplet, the moon starts to cast it silver touch on the trees. Personification, in peers and sees, is carefully chosen so that the reader can relate to the scene. Silver fruit upon silver trees Is also a powerful message as It describes the perfection In the scene. In the third to sixth couplet, the poet Increases the detail of the poem (from casements to the eyes of a mouse), turning more and ore things to silver. Walter continues to use personifications, in catch and peep, to enliven the poem. A simile, couched in his kennel like a log, Is used to tell the reader that the dog Is sleeping peacefully In perfect harmony. Furthermore, metaphors, including paws of silver and silver-feathered sleep, are used. Silver and feather both hint a pure/simple and uninterrupted sleep. In the last couplet, the poet leaves the reader satisfied. Leaving every detail silver and completing the duty with two adaptors: movables fish in the water gleam and silver reeds In a silver stream. In short, Silver is a magnificent and meaningful poem. The Moon by P. B. Shelley is a well-written poem that takes a different stance on the moon from Silver. Similarly, both poems describe the nature of the moon and uses alliterations, similes, personifications and metaphors to reinforce the poets view. Both poems also have all but the last two lines with the same number of syllables 1 OFF poem and allows the story to be spun more clearly in the readers mind. However, P. B. Shelley views the moon in a lifeless, tiring, cheerless, dying and dull way. The poet chose to compare the moon to an old lady; a white moon instead of a silver moon. In Silver words with positive connotation help maintain a positive image. On the other hand, words with negative connotation fill the poem. Totters, dying, lean, pale, gauzy, insane, feeble, fading and murky are words that keep the image in the readers mind negative. Mr.. Shelley uses half rhymes in an ABA scheme throughout the first four lines. In Silver countless poetic devices are used to enhance Walter De la Mares poem. .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e , .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .postImageUrl , .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e , .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e:hover , .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e:visited , .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e:active { border:0!important; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e:active , .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u8acd2ae4d89b1195c00fd94df922a33e:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Movie Analysis - Groundhog Day EssayIn contrast, only one other poetic device, alliteration (lady lean), is used because poetic device often makes the poem more flowery and positive. Since this is not desirable, P. B. Shelley left out many poetic devices. Despite both poets using figurative language to reinforce the poets view, P. B. Shelley, unlike Walter De la Mare, chose to use it in a negative way. The whole excerpt is a simile/personification. And, like a dying lady lean and pale, the simile/personification connects the moon to dying lady. To continue the personification, the poet used numerous personifications. For example, lean, pale, and totters. This emphasizes the image of a dying lady. Throughout the poem, Mr.. Shelley has included numerous metaphors which make the poem extremely negative. These include out of her chamber, led by the insane, feeble wanderings of her feeble brain and murky east. In all, despite both Silver and The Moon describing the nature of the moon, Walter De la Mare and P. B. Shelley paints images of the moon that are poles apart. All in all, the moon is perceived differently amongst different people around the world. Silver by Walter De la Mare and The Moon by P. B. Shelley are two views on the character of the moon. In Silver, Walter De la Mare positively believes that the moon is tranquil and mystical. On the other hand, P. B. Shelley believes that the moon is like a dying woman. Staring at the night sky, different eyes lead to different perspectives. Looking at things from different perspectives opens a new dimension. Sources:Silver by Walter De la Amaretto Moon by P. B. The Spanish Armada Essays (614 words) - Tudor England,

The Spanish Armada The Spanish Armada was a fleet of armed ships that attempted to invade England in the year of 1588. This Spanish Fleet had at one time been called the Invincible Armada, supposedly because the Spaniards thought it could not be defeated (World book Multimedia Encyclopedia). The Spanish Fleet consisted of over 130 ships and more than 29,000 men, most were soldiers. Many of the ships were low in weapons and experienced soldiers that could work these weapons, others were low in ammunition. King Phillip named the Duke of Medina Sidonia to command the Armada. During the 1500's the Spanish were thought to have had a dominating Navy until in 1588, when they were defeated by the English. The English received word of the Spanish's activities and armed many of its merchant vessels and added them to its warships. England's fleet was made up of about 197 ships and nearly 16,000 men, these men were mostly sailors rather than soldiers. Admiral Lord Howard of Effingham commanded the fleet and his squadron leaders were Francis Drake, John Hawkins and Martin Frobisher. Francis Drake and John Hawkins were ordered many times to raid Spanish villages and ships to acquire more riches. 2 The Spanish Armada left Lisbon, Portugal on May 30, 1588 and arrived at the English Channel on July 20. The ships were constantly battling for seven days straight. There were long-range duels and soldiers were sent to burn the enemy ships and destroy their weapons. On July 27, the Armada anchored at Calais, France. The Duke of Medina Sidonia had planned to meet barges carrying Spanish Troops from nearby Dunkerque, a port in the Netherlands (World book Multimedia Encyclopedia). Unfortunately, Dutch gunboats prevented the barges from meeting the Armada. This act doomed the fleet to failure (World book Multimedia Encyclopedia). Early in the hours of July 29, the English sent eight vessels that were packed with gunpowder and were set on fire, and they were directed towards the Armada. The Spanish were barely able to flee from the burning ships. Later that morning, the English sent 60 or so warships to attack an equal number of Spanish Galleons. The English sank two Spanish ships and damaged others severely. The crippled Armada fled to the North Sea, then returned to Spain by sailing north around the British Isles. Heavy winds wrecked many of ships off Ireland's coast, and only 67 out of the 130 reached Spain. 3 There were many deaths at the battle between the England and Spain, but the exact number is confirmed. Some deaths were from drowning, disease, but most were just from the casualties of war. The Spanish lost nearly half its fleet, during the battles with the English. Things got even worse after the battles. Spain even though they did not officially lose the battles, their country was in economic trouble. There were so many controversial issues, going on after the war, that the country just fell apart and England became a major power in Europe. Spain was very confident going into the battles and they came out the losers and that hurt them considerably. The battles contributed to the slow decline of the Spanish economy, production, and social well-being. It was becoming evident that the Spanish were not as powerful as they once were. There were revolts against the Government of Spain, lootings in villages and towns and their were several civil wars. Spain, today, is still a fairly popular country but not as nearly powerful and prosperous as they once were. The Spanish Armada's invasion on the English Channel in 1588 is and always will remain one of the most popular naval battles in history.

Personal Subject Pronouns in Spanish

Personal Subject Pronouns in Spanish Spanish pronouns are usually used much like their English counterparts. The biggest difference is that subject pronouns (ones used to tell who or what is performing the action of the main verb in a sentence) can be omitted where theyre required in English. In other words, subject pronouns in Spanish are used primarily for clarity or emphasis. The 12 Personal Subject Pronouns of Spanish yo - Ità º - you (singular familiar)usted - you (singular formal)à ©l, ella - he, shenosotros, nosotras - wevosotros, vosotras - you (plural familiar)ustedes - you (plural formal)ellos, ellas - they These are called personal subject pronouns to distinguish them from the demonstrative pronouns, the equivalent of words such as this and those. There is also a subject pronoun ello, which can be the rough equivalent of it, but it is rarely used. Note that even though à ©l, ella, ellos, and ellas usually refer to people or animals, they can on occasion refer to inanimate objects, with the pronoun matching the grammatical gender of the object or objects being referred to. Vosotros and vosotras are seldom used in most of Latin America, where ustedes can be used even when talking with close friends or children. How To Use or Omit Subject Pronouns Because verb conjugation often suggests who or what the subject of a sentence is, one can properly leave out the subject pronoun or put it at various places in the sentence. Voy a la escuela, yo voy a la escuela, voy yo a la escuela, and voy a la escuela yo are all grammatically correct ways of saying I am going to the school (although the final option would be highly uncommon except if said for poetic effect). But the placement of the pronoun can make a difference in how the sentence is understood. To see how these pronouns are used, examine the sentences below. Subject pronouns, where used, are in boldface: Mi hermano es muy inteligente. Es doctor. (My brother is intelligent. He  is a doctor.) - No subject pronoun is needed in the second sentence, because the subject of the sentence is made clear by the context and the verb form.Mis mejores amigos se llaman Roberto, Ahmad y Suzanne. Son estudiantes. (My best friends are Roberto, Ahmad, and Suzanne. They are students.) - The pronoun is unnecessary in the second Spanish sentence and normally wouldnt be used becauses it is clear who is being referred to.Es fcil comprender el libro. (It is easy to understand the book.) - No pronoun is used to translate an impersonal use of it.Mi hermano y su esposa son inteligentes. Él es doctor, y ella es abogada. (My brother and his wife are intelligent. He is a doctor, and she is a lawyer.) - In this case, the subject pronouns à ©l and ella are used  for clarity.Tà º, ella y yo vamos al cine. (You, she,  and I are going to the movies.) - Note that in this construction the first-person pl ural form of the verb (the one that would be used with the equivalent of we) is used. Thus it is possible to use that verb form without using the pronoun nosotros. Hazlo. (Do it.) Hazlo tà º. (You do it.) - In a command such as this, the addition of the subject often has a similar effect to its use in English. Although grammatically not necessary, the addition of the subject serves to place additional emphasis on the subject.Ella canta bien. (She sings well.) Canta bien ella. She sings well. - The pronoun would be used in the first sentence if theres no context to clearly indicate who is being talked about. By placing ella at the end of the second sentence, the speaker is placing a strong emphasis on the pronoun. The emphasis in the second sentence is on the singer and not the singing. ¿Vas a salir? (Are you leaving?)  ¿Vas a salir tà º? (Are you leaving?) - The first sentence is a simple, uninflected question. But the second one, by adding the subject at the end of sentence, is placing a strong emphasis on the person leaving. One possible translation might be Are even you leaving? Or one might render the English as Are you leaving? wi th a stress or emphasis on you. Nunca va ella al centro. (She never goes downtown.) Ya ha salido à ©l. (He has already left.) - It is common when certain adverbs start a sentence to immediately follow the adverb with the verb, followed by the subject. No special emphasis on the subject is intended. Adverbs often used this way include nunca, ya, bastante, and quizs.- Te amo, dijo à ©l. - Tambià ©n te amo, respondià ³ ella. (I love you, he said. I love you too, she responded.) - When reporting what people have said, it is common to use the subject pronoun after verbs such as decir (to say), preguntar (to ask), and responder (to reply). No special emphasis on the speaker is intended. (Note: The dashes in the Spanish sentences are a type of quotation mark.)
